3rd EU-Japan Symposium on Future Internet and New Generation Networks

20-22 October 2010 Tampere, Finland

The 3rd EU-Japan Symposium on Future Internet and New Generation Networks (NWGN) is intended to facilitate interactions between the European and Japanese participants. The target outcome of the Symposium sessions will be the identification of a number of potential proposals to be submitted under the forthcoming "Challenge 1" related calls of the ICT Work Programme 2011-2012, in particular calls 7 and 8. In this context, European participants to the event are invited to make a five minute presentation (2 to 3 slides) outlining their views on topics where they would be willing to team up with Japanese partner(s). Japanese participants to the event will make similar short presentations, outlining their research interests and the type of activities where they would welcome partnership with European actors.

Type of participation

Organisation of a session on Test Beds, facilitating the constituencies (NoF from EU and Japan as a whole) to meet and discuss in detail cooperation plans in the light of cooperation possibilities offered by FP8.

Reason for participating/Objective of participation

Gather information on Japanese FIRE-related projects; promote FIRE visibility in Japan and possible usage of FIRE facilities in Japanese research projects, and vice versa.
