Relevance to FIRE
The Future Internet Assembly has been established in April 2008 and is intensively used as a platform for much more than 100 projects funded by the EC framework programme 7, and other research programmes, facilitating open interactions and cross-fertilisation across technical domains in the area of future internet at large. For the FIRE facility project the FIA gathers a critical mass of "customer" research projects, while for the FIRE research projects it is a forum to interact with peer researchers and discussalternative research methodologies, such as experimentally driven research.
Description
The Future Internet Assembly (FIA) in Ghent will feature keynote speaker Ben Verwaayen, CEO Alcatel-Lucent. There will be ample scope for discussion on technical and non-technical issues of the developments of the Future Internet.
The FIA will again convene hundreds of European researchers of the 100+ projects. It will give opportunity to discuss the first steps of the Public Private Partnership on Future Internet.
