NOVI project Midterm Workshop

March 15-16 2012, Barcelona

The NOVI project is holding a Midterm Workshop on March 15-16, 2012 in Barcelona, hosted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC.
 
Most of the Workshop will be devoted to presentations and demonstrations of the first prototype developments of the following components:
 
1.    The NOVI Service Layer for creating and reconfiguring a federated slice consisting of PlanetLab and FEDERICA virtual resources based on combining the following NOVI software components:

• NOVI-API (GUI)
• Resource Information Service
• Intelligent Resource Mapping Service
• Policy Service
• Request handler Service
• SFA Wrapper Service for FEDERICA

2.    NOVI’s distributed virtual switch (NSwitch) that establishes data plane connectivity between PlanetLab facilities over best-effort legacy Internet and FEDERICA nodes in a controlled networking environment.
 
3.    NOVI’s Monitoring Service (HADES, SONOMA and packet tracking tools) for active and passive measurements in combined slices of virtual resources.

The last part of the Workshop will be devoted to candid discussions on plans for the next developments towards improving and integrating our early prototypes.
