Great success for the 1st FIRE Open Calls!
Further to the
information day that was organised on 9 February 2011 in Brussels under the auspices of FIRE STATION with the FIRE projects BonFIRE, OFELIA and TEFIS, a total of 49 proposals were submitted only for BonFIRE and OFELIA, for a total budget of 11 million euros. TEFIS is expecting proposals before 11 May (more details available
here), and they will add up to this already impressive number.
BonFIRE received 28 proposals, for a total budget of 6.2 million euros (4.7 million euros requested funding), while 21 proposals were submitted to OFELIA for 4.8 million euros (3.5 million euros requested funding). BonFIRE attracted a large participation from Greece, Spain, the UK and Switzerland; OFELIA from Germany, Greece, and Italy.
BonFIRE will fund 4 or 5 proposals, and OFELIA will retain 2 proposals. As most of the proposals came with technically brilliant ideas that would help the testbeds become more efficient, bigger, and attractive, the projects are already thinking of other ways to invite more of these projects to join them in the future. Stay in touch to learn more about this!
